Diagnosis
Utah, a yellow Labrador Retriever mix, was diagnosed with an oral malignant melanoma. It had been confirmed on biopsy. The surgeon was able to debulk the tumor, but did not remove all of the aggressive malignancy. Utah was referred to Dr. Maro’s office on 10/7/2013.
Treatment
Utah was treated with herbs and acupuncture and had good results with shrinkage of tumor. The owner had financial constraints and decreased frequency of treatments in June of 2014. The tumor began growing orally and metastasized to the lungs in September 2014. Immunotherapy was resumed at that time, again slowing tumor growth. In June 2015, significant tumor growth had occurred in the mouth, which interfered with eating. Dr. Maro debulked the tumor and began Nano Herbs Light therapy. Since that time, he has stopped coughing. As of October 21, 2015, Utah has not had significant tumor growth; he is eating well and is pain free.
